Lesly Huxley

ILRT Director and Assistant Director, Information Services

As ILRT Director and Assistant Director of Information Services, I have particular responsibility for strategic planning for ILRT including: development of R&D and consultancy portfolios; sustaining ILRT as a self-financing unit that also contributes to Information Services' income-generation targets and 'future watching' new technologies (and new applications of the less new).

I have a background in corporate systems and in staff development and HR. I am currently also seconded half-time to the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education as Director of Publications and Organisational Development.

I have been involved in a wide range of projects and services in ILRT since 1995, particularly around use of ICT in the social sciences and arts and humanities and in collaborative tools for research. University-wide, I am involved in, for example, communication of the IT Strategy, the Research Staff Working Party and the Change Management initiative. Nationally I am a member of UCISA's Staff Development Group, JISC's Organisational Support (JOS) Committee and working group, and BECTA's national strategy group on 'Harnessing Technology'.I am also a member of the Board of Management of MIMAS (University of Manchester).

In my spare time I enjoy travelling, family history research and the occasional sip of real ale.
