BOS is a Web based tool that allows people to create, deploy and analyse surveys via the Internet. For a small annual fee customers are given an account in which they can create and run as many surveys as they like. There is no complicated set-up or administration as the service is run entirely by ILRT staff. Users need no technical knowledge to create and deploy surveys. All survey data is backed-up and available to users to download at any time.
Approximately 150 UK and overseas Universities and organisations now have a BOS account. There are close to 3,000 users and 100's of surveys open at one time.
BOS has unique facilities to run surveys in multiple organisations and these have been used for the Careers in Research Online Survey (CROS), the Higher Education Academy's Postgraduate Researchers Experience Survey (PRES) and the Athena project's ASSET survey.
